I've been working with my wife on doing some Spring cleaning. Spring is finally here, and with Spring here, we get all sorts of storms, thunderstorms, and even tornadoes here in Texas. And if I can't be outside while it's raining, then we're left to being inside and getting down on our hands and knees, scrubbing, cleaning, and going through all the "stuff" we seem to have collected.

The stuff that's been collected for a while, well, I end up having to go through it all and working to put the useless stuff into boxes and take them over to the local charity that we love to work with.

And then there's the cleaning of the accent rugs and carpeting and sometimes even scrubbing on that stuff. I prefer to use "tough stuff", on the spot stains to treat them. Works great.

We recently updated our kitchen to a more "country" theme, which includes a few pictures of chickens on the walls, some other art of a rooster, an egg basket and other figurines to the bay window, and an accent rug.

The accent rug we added not only protects from spills and drips near the kitchen sink, it also adds to the "country" theme we have now in the kitchen.
